Editing Services

What I Offer

I help new and up-and-coming writers—especially writers of horror, weird fiction, and dark literature—refine and elevate their stories. Below are my services.

1

A high level review of your story that covers story structure and pacing, character development, voice and tone, market considerations, and effectiveness in genre.
Included is a detailed editorial letter that outlines strengths and weaknesses, and the specific next steps.
($50 up to 5k words. Custom quotes for longer fiction)

These are the deep cuts. Inside your manuscript, I’ll comment on plot arcs, theme and symbolism, atmosphere, scene-tension, character motivation/growth, and emotional resonance.
Included is an editorial letter and document margin comments
(Starts at $0.02/wd. After 5k words, $0.03/wd.)

2

This is a lighter service where I’ll focus on sentence clarity, repetition and rhythm, as well as grammar, spelling, and punctuation. This works great as a follow-up to developmental editing, or for polishing already tight short fiction.
($10/1k wds up to 5k wds)

3

Let me critique the package you’re going to submit, and I’ll give you margin comments, and a 1-page report.
($10 – Short Fiction to 10k words; $20 – Long Fiction)

3

This is the final polish before you hit submit, or send it off to a publisher. I’ll go over the piece for typos, punctuation, and formatting mistakes.
($30 up to 5k wds. Custom quotes for longer fiction)
