I help new and up-and-coming writers—especially writers of horror, weird fiction, and dark literature—refine and elevate their stories. Below are my services.
Don’t worry, this isn’t a one-click, turnstile checkout. Fill out the form below, and I’ll personally review the request. I’ll assess the project’s scope versus availability and follow up via email, where we’ll talk pricing and scheduling, as well as deadline if we work together.
If I take you on as a client, we agree upon terms, and you pay via line-item invoice.
Although I primarily focus on horror and dark fiction, all genres are welcome.
1
Manuscript Assessment
A high level review of your story that covers story structure and pacing, character development, voice and tone, market considerations, and effectiveness in genre.
Included is a detailed editorial letter that outlines strengths and weaknesses, and the specific next steps.
($50 up to 5k words. Custom quotes for longer fiction)
1
Developmental Editing
These are the deep cuts. Inside your manuscript, I’ll comment on plot arcs, theme and symbolism, atmosphere, scene-tension, character motivation/growth, and emotional resonance.
Included is an editorial letter and document margin comments
(Starts at $0.02/wd. After 5k words, $0.03/wd.)
2
Copy Editing
This is a lighter service where I’ll focus on sentence clarity, repetition and rhythm, as well as grammar, spelling, and punctuation. This works great as a follow-up to developmental editing, or for polishing already tight short fiction.
($10/1k wds up to 5k wds)
3
Query Letters, Synopses, and Bio Critique
Let me critique the package you’re going to submit, and I’ll give you margin comments, and a 1-page report.
($10 – Short Fiction to 10k words; $20 – Long Fiction)
3
Proofreading
This is the final polish before you hit submit, or send it off to a publisher. I’ll go over the piece for typos, punctuation, and formatting mistakes.
($30 up to 5k wds. Custom quotes for longer fiction)
