for those of you following this crazy arc.

Hello, and long time.

It’s been a crazy few months. Four short stories published in the last couple months, and another contracted for the fall of 2025 by Burial Books.

If You’re Here Because You Like to Read Fiction:

My most recent publication is a story called Gifts of Autumn, published by Hellbound Books in their anthology, “Satan Rides Your Daughter Again.”

From a poor woman suffering at the hands of witch finders, the building of an infamous Bunny Ranch and absolute living Hell that is high school, to encounters with angels, Hades’ pit, the quest for a hellishly good chilli, and so much more in between, Satan Rides Your Daughter Again is packed with devilishly good tales to torment your soul with a taste of the fire and brimstone underworld that roils below us…

-Hellbound Books

My story is about a young woman forced to provide a malevolent being with offerings, thus securing the safety of her village each winter. As the being’s desires grow terrible and insatiable, Mary must choose: The safety of her village? Or her very soul?

Trigger Warnings: It’s kind of a slow burn. I suppose implied SA is the main trigger. Animal Death. Some gore. I mean, the anthology is Satan Rides Your Daughter, come on…

Fall of this year, Burial Books is releasing an anthology with a story of mine called, “The Will of the Woods.”

Be on the lookout for that one. Especially if you like sporror.

Trigger Warnings: Body horror, bullying, animal death

Older:

Thicker than Water, published by Dark Horses Magazine – Issue #34

Parishioners of the Drought, published by Bewildering Stories (selected editor’s choice – Winter Quarterly Review).

The Garnering, published by Freedom Fiction Journal – Issue

Future:

About to write the climax of my current novel: When All the Light Has Gone.

I’m pitching it as:

If Chuck Palahniuk had written Salem’s Lot, and then met My Best Friend’s Exorcism if it had been written by Stephen Graham Jones, and those two books had a baby.

And that baby had many, many problems.

I’m hoping to begin editing after sometime this spring.

65,000 words – first draft

The other novel I’m working on is called: Delirium Tremens
I’m currently in the fun process of editing ALL of the 75,000 word piece to be narrated as first person present tense instead of third person past.

Super fun.

This one also has that satirical lean and critical edge of my more minimalist style stuff. I don’t know if anyone else is doing Sat-Horror, but I’m having a good time. Think: Chapman’s Ghost Eaters meets Pet Sematary meets Insidious.

75,000 words – 2nd draft

Other News:

I joined up with the Great Lakes Association of Horror Writers.
Along with that, I joined their writing group and started attending the member meetings.

I’m excited to broaden my horror horizens, expand my reach, boost some fellow authors, and promote good writing.

I’ll probably see you at a convention or some event in the near future, so look out.

Last:

I submitted two short stories to a few places today, and I still have four more out in inboxes or trash piles with other publishers.

It’s gonna be a busy year.
